Supreme Court Collegium elevates Mr. Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari, who is currently Acting Chief Justice as Chief Justice of Madras High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and other senior most Judges, Justice U.U. Lalit and A.M Khanwilkar, by a resolution dated 14.12.2021/29.01.2022 recommended the appointment of Mr. Mr. Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari, Judge of Madras High Court as Chief Justice of Madras High Court and also approved the names of 17 others as Judges for the High Courts of Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Justice Bhandari who was elevated as Judge of Rajasthan High Court in 2007 is presently Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court since he was transferred from the Allahabad High Court in November 2021.
The Supreme Court collegiums approved the proposal for elevation of 4 Advocates as Judges of Orissa High Court namely Shri V. Narasingh, Shri Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Shri Biraja Prasanna Satapathy and Shri Sri Raman Murahari @ M.S. Raman
For the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, SC approved the proposal of 3 Advocates and 3 Judicial Officers for elevation as Judges
Shri Maninder Singh Bhatti, Shri Dwarka Dhish Bansal @ DD Bansal and Shri Milind Ramesh Phadke are the 3 advocates who is to be elevated
Shri Amar Nath Kesharwani, Shri Prakash Chandra Gupta and Shri Dinesh Kumar Paliwal are 3 Judicial Officers who are proposed to be elevated
Also the Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 29th January, 2022 has approved the proposal for elevation of the following 7 Advocates as Judges in the Andhra Pradesh High Court
