Hon'ble Justice of Calcutta High Court, Kaushik Chanda provided a monetary help for the families of the advocates who had succumbed to the Covid-19 pandemic from the account of the fine that Hon'ble Justice imposed on the government of West Bengal under the leadership of Ms. Mamata Banerjee.
The Hon'ble Justice of Calcutta High Court after recusing, due to the calculated psychological offensives and vilification adopted to seek recusal, from a Election Petition, filed by west Bengal Government against Mr. Suvendu Adhikari, an MLA from Bharatiya Janta Party, who won from Nandigram constituency, imposed a fine of Rs. 5 lakh against the Bengal Government. The Court said that the said cost should be deposited with the Bar Council of West Bengal within two weeks from the date of Judgement i.e. June 7, 2021 and such deposited amount should be for the families of the advocates who had succumbed to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Lastly the Court viewed, "Since the two persons involved in this case belong to the highest echelon of the State politics, in the name of saving the judiciary, some opportunists have already emerged. These trouble-mongers will try to keep the controversy alive and create newer controversies. The trial of the case before this Bench will be a tool to aggrandise themselves. It would be contrary to the interest of justice if such unwarranted squabble continues along with the trial of the case, and such attempts should be thwarted at the threshold".
Case:

I am overwhelmed to the said order . I postulate the judiciary being a practitioner in the supreme court of India.
